Come on in, the water's fine!

Writer: Lisa TraversLisa Travers

Last thursday I set up a little solo exhibition in an empty shop on Christmas Steps in Bristol. It's a great area, steep steps lined with historical higgledy piggledy shops with wonky roofs full of independent businesses. The shop has been empty for a while. So the first couple of hours were spent cleaning the windows inside and out. Theres a lot of grot that comes off all the traffic in town.

It's a great space. It'd be great to have a studio/gallery one day. One day.

I've got 5 pieces on show in the shop. I've had some lovely feedback and comments about my work. It was grabbing a lot of attention before we'd even finished the install.

Its my first ever solo endeavour. Which is a bit nerve wracking when it's all you, up to now I've only ever taken part in group shows which takes the pressure off a bit. But this is solo. But mini. Like a toe dip as it were.

My mini pop up exhibition is on until Monday 17th March. Do pop by and check it out.
