2025 Highlights: A Landmark Year for My Art Practice

I’ve been reflecting on just how pivotal this past year has been for my art business. It’s been a year of investment, experimentation, recognition, and some truly affirming moments that have shaped the direction of my practice moving forward.

From learning entirely new processes to seeing my work recognised on a national level, 2025 has been full of milestones I’m incredibly proud of.

Highlight 1: Funding, Investment & New Printing Press

One of the biggest turning points of the year was being awarded funding from the Gane Trust, which enabled me to purchase my own printing press. This investment has fundamentally changed the way I work, giving me the freedom to explore printmaking at my own pace and on my own terms.

Alongside this, I’ve been undertaking a printing course, learning the technical foundations of various methods of printmaking but really enjoying lino printing. Developing these skills has opened up an exciting new chapter in my practice and laid the groundwork for future collections.

Highlight 2: New Work – Cyanotype Prints

This year saw the creation of several new bodies of work. Alongside my growing lino print practice, I developed a range of cyanotype anatomical prints, combining historical references with my ongoing interest in the body, science, and material processes.

Working with cyanotype has been both technical and intuitive, and this series represents a deeper confidence in experimenting with process-led work and alternative print techniques.

Highlight 3: Exhibitions, Trails, Fairs & Pop-Ups

Sharing my work in physical spaces was a huge part of 2025. In February, I took part in Bath Art Fair, which was a brilliant opportunity to connect with new audiences and fellow artists.

Later in the year, I held a solo pop-up exhibition in a shop on Christmas Steps, transforming the windows into a temporary gallery and showcasing my work in a more personal way. Creating my own exhibition space was both challenging and incredibly rewarding. Throughout the year I have taken part in many of Bristols amazing art trails and art markets. It has been so much fun getting out and meeting so many of you.

Highlight 4: Awards, Recognition & Opportunities

2025 also brought some hugely affirming recognition for my work. I was honoured to be a winner of the VAA Art100 Emerging Artist Prize and to be named as one of 100 emerging artists to keep an eye on. This recognition has given me a renewed sense of confidence and momentum.

I was also thrilled to be selected for the RWA Open Exhibition, a long-held goal and a meaningful milestone in my exhibiting journey.

Highlight 5: Gallery Representation & Ongoing Work

This year, I was delighted to have work shown at The Sandra Higgins Gallery in Bath, where my pieces continue to sit alongside inspiring contemporary artists. Having my work in a gallery setting has been an important step in building the professional side of my practice.

Highlight 6: Wholesale

I also set up a wholesale side to my practice and now offer items from my Art Merch Collection at wholesale prices. I have partnered with Faire to supply shops all over the country
