These kaleidoscopic designs were created from an 18th century medical illustration of the human brain. I had watched a documentary involving slices of a brain for imaging and diagnosis and I wanted to explore how thought and self reflection might look under a microscope.

The design is printed on to ceramic tiles and set on a wood base and framed in a simple white painted wooden frame.
